✨Me with my very first singing bowl.✨ This was almost ten years ago. I remember when I first picked up this bowl. I couldn’t get it to make a sound.😂 I kept practicing and soon it began to hum. The sound was calming and I wanted to know more. I didn’t know what would become of this. I was just learning more about frequencies, energy, and sound. I had no idea that a year later, I would be pregnant with baby number five. I had no idea my mom would not make it home while recovering from back surgery and make her transition. These bowls became my solace. I spent so many days and nights playing these bowls, singing, dancing, chanting, crying, praying. I would go to the lake and play after working out. All of this while having a new baby and grieving my mom. It was a lot to process. Little did I know, all of this sound therapy I was giving myself and others, was grounding me. It was giving my grief an outlet. I was transforming me along the way. These sounds were healing me. People have asked how I manage the grief of my mother among many other loved ones, being a mom of five, married, businesses etc. No one sees the tears. The sudden grief that resurfaces. The dances. The prayers. The reflection. The anger. The wonder. The pain. But it all happened….and it all continues to happen from time to time- and I allow it. I’m not sure what my life would look like had it not been for the sounds, frequencies, healing and dance sessions. All of these things were rewiring my brain in ways I didn’t know. I never ran from what I was feeling, I let it happen. I felt it all. I witnessed it all.✨ Sound has been an emotional cleanse for me. I am grateful to have picked up this singing bowl.🙏🏾 It has led me down a path I had no idea I would be traveling.💕 Here I am today, years later approaching a shift and awaiting to see in what direction sound will take me now. So often, we say the body is self-healing, but how many of us truly know this? What if every dis-ease and every symptom is not a mistake, but a response. A necessary part of the healing? We have to start asking ourselves these questions as it pertains to our body and health. Doing our own research to discover how the body responds to not only unhealthy habits, but trauma, ancestral patterns, and fear. The body guards, it is intelligent, and it wants to heal. Ask it how you can support it? What unhealthy habits are outdated, what beliefs have ran their course, does it need rest? Is it in a perpetual state of fear? Does it need more nutrients, sunlight, stillness? What ancestral patterns is it time to recognize and release? Ask your body and see how you can support your body. How you can assist in the healing.
