✨It was about 7 years ago when I picked up my first singing bowl. I had NO ideas as to what was to co@e. No intentions, no lessons…just knew that it resonated. The little blue bowl you see was my first bowl. ✨Since then, life has taken me on so many twists and turns. After my mother made her transition and Niko was born, these bowls became a safe haven for me. I started out going to the lake and playing while people walked around. As my daughter’s birthday is approaching, I’m reminded of the day she was born✨ There’s a story that goes along with her birth and I want to take a moment to share. This is me, right after giving birth at home to my Zuri Skye. This little one was 2-3 weeks early and it took her a few days to arrive after my water broke. I am grateful to have had a great midwife that was calm, collective, and respected my decision to wait for her to come on her own. I spoke to her during labor and let her know it was okay and time to come. I think her waiting around was her wondering if mommy was ready. You see, I had just given birth at home, to her brother Kyree a little over a year ago. I was breastfeeding when I got pregnant with her so it was a total shock. Not to mention my body was still recovering and I had no idea how I would manage taking care of a 15month old and a newborn. I held that energy of wanting her, but not being sure if I was ready. Well, after talking to her and letting her know it was safe and I/we were ready, she came later on that day. Ladies, remember that your baby can sense and feel your energy. Your emotions and how you feel about the pregnancy can effect your labor. When you’re in labor, talk to your babies. They can hear and feel you. Clear up any less than ideal thoughts or emotions you may have about them coming earthside. Sometimes all that’s needed is for blockages to be removed so the energy can flow and labor can progress. Fear can inhibit labor to progress. Whether it’s fear about the baby, fear you can’t do it, or lingering fears about being a mom. Let it go and connect to the moment. Connect to your baby. Fuck what everyone else has to say. Listen to YOUR heart💜 Once I let her know I was ready, we were ready, and that she was welcome, she came. And she came quietly!!! But, now she’s one of the talkers of the family. Meaning she likes to say a lot😂 If you’re considering birthing at home, go for it, you got this! Just taking in the smell of these red clovers💜 Wasn’t sure what it was when I first noticed it, but intuitively knew it was something. This flower gives me sure of itself vibes and was a reminder to me to be sure of myself and to trust my intuition even when it has no logical explanation✨ Now, about red clover. Clovers are legumes, from the pea family and are symbolic of luck among other things. They have been eaten and use for a very long time. There are stories of this herb being used for its’ medicinal benefits as well. It’s uses are many. In traditional Chinese medicine it is often used as a cleansing herb. My discernment and ability to notice plants and what not that may have medicinal properties is increasing. since I started a quest to learn to identify plants where I live. I was walking and stumbled upon some turkey tail mushroom. Looked at it and instantly knew it was a mushroom. Then looked up pictures and compared to realize it was turkey tail. Put my hands on it, thanked nature, and then picked some off the dead tree. Took it hope, cleaned it, patted it down and dehydrated it. Now, I’m just waiting to tincture it and going to try some in tea. Turkey tail is pretty popular and easily accessible in the woods or what not once you identify it. It’s found on dead trees, has coecentruc rings, is white to off white in the bottom, and has tiny pores. The bottom of it feels velvety and although it doesn’t look like it, it’s quite flexible. Flashback!!! My first set of locs. Started them shortly after I cut all my hair off. Around 2007 when locs weren’t nearly as popular as they are now. I had them 6-7 years in this pic. I ended up cutting this set to shoulder length and then I took them out myself.😂 Took me 5-7 days to take them out. Went without locs for 5 years and got the loc itch. Honestly, I don’t know anyone who had a set of locs they liked and didn’t loc again at some point. Loving my current set too. And all that goes with starting locs from very little hair. Ankle sprains?? Thought I’d share some simple things that can be done to speed up the healing process. ✔️Elevation ✔️Ice and then rotation between very cold and very hot water (about 2quarts) dissolved in 1 cup of epsom salt. Start with hot as long as person can take it then switch to cold. Repeat for about 20 mins. ✔️Bone Om tuning fork (it’s what I’m doing in the pic. This tuning fork is specifically for bones, fractures, sprains, etc. There are studies where tuning forks are used to determine whether or not a fracture is present. More on that in another post. I knew it wasn’t fractured) ✔️Comfrey Root Poultice. What you see in second pic. This works wonders for sprains, tears, breaks, pain, inflammation etc. And it works!!! Regenerates feels and speeds up healing. ✔️Rest. Never underestimate the power of resting the body. ✔️Ankle stretches with and without resistance bands. ✔️Reiki/healing through hands. Never underestimate the power in your hands. Warm them up and touch the location. Close your eyes and let the energy move. ✔️Do it all with Love 💜 If your angry, uptight, or anxious don’t start doing the things above until you’re calm. The energy you put into healing/caring for someone matters. We also did a flaxseed poultice at the beginning. Good for inflammation and pain. After that it was only comfrey root poultice. Three days later and he’s walking with very minimal pain! Of course he has ankle brace for added support which he needs because he plays basketball. It’s been almost two months since this birth. Even though I was given the green light to share, it’s taken me some time to get comfortable with sharing the video. Birth is such a sacred time for mothers and I just want to be sure I’m sharing their experience in the best way possible. Anyhow, here are a few moments shared from a mothers birth experience last month. Baby girl was two weeks late and the pressure was being put in the mother to “get the baby out.” But, that’s know how we get down around here. Most babies come when they are ready and it isn’t unusual for first time moms to go past their due date. Needless to say, Isabela Diana Domonech was born on July 6, 2022. She kept everyone waiting, but she arrived healthy and has been growing ever since. Japanese Honeysuckle🌿 Took this picture yesterday after picking some honeysuckle. Apparently it’s native to Eastern Asia, but is said to have arrived in the US in 1804. It is said that there’s a remedy for every ailment in nature. This has to be true, because I’ve found quite a few remedies doing some foraging right here in my own backyard. Was heading back from my morning workout and saw a couple picking this plant. Of course I asked “what are you picking” the guy said honeysuckle. It makes a good tea. I shared with him I often pick white pine needles in the area and then I started picking some honesuckle to take back with me. Now let’s get to the fun part!!! I’m going to try making some of this tea today. The guy told me it makes a good tea. You can use all parts of the plant for the tea. The leaves and flowers. I’ll let you know how it goes. I picked some goldenrod nearby last year and made a tincture that we use for various things. The more I learn the more my affinity for nature increases. She was soooo relaxed getting her soundbath. The last time I cut all my hair off it was way back in 2007 to start my first set of locs. Kept those seven years and then I took them out. 18 months ago I decided to loc my hair again, but it was different because this time I started them while my hair was longer. For some reason, the front part of my hair was healthy, but there were sections in the back where the locs were shorter from me breaking them off due to thinning in the center of the loc. Well, a week ago I said fuck it I’m starting over with this loc process and cut them off. It was such a relief to let them go and I’m excited to start them again. I loved starting my first set of locs from fresh short hair. I got to experience every stage that my hair went through. I’m excited for this new cycle. I feel like when I cut my hair I let go of so much that I’ve been carrying for quite some time. Well, it’s a new cycle. A new year. A new version of Cha’ron. I’m ready….. Can’t wait to get my starter locs for my third set of locs! Do t be afraid to let go. Of hair, people, relationships, jobs, lifestyles, etc. It’s a necessary part of life that we sometimes shy away from. We had an awesome New Year’s Eve sound bath✨ I am grateful to everyone who showed up. The energy was awesome and we even stayed around afterwards to chat for a bit. We did some deep breathing, intention setting, and more! It truly was awesome. I will be hosting one in-person sound bath every third Saturday of the month at Revolve Wellness Studio for the next few months. I can never stay away too long. These pics are from my walk yesterday. My mood, anxiety, stress, centering, health, grief, beauty, and exercise. All the things I get from nature and more. Nature is one of my happy places. Whether it be walking, hiking, or simply sitting down and being still for a moment. Nature Heals. These days so much time is spent in front of some type of electronic device. We have to be sure to detach from the virtual world and get outdoors. Get your body moving and just take a moment to get outdoors and admire nature. Here are a few ways in which nature heals: 🌲Nature reduces stress, anxiety, and depression. 🌲Being in nature lowers your blood pressure. 🌲Nature reduces anger and fear. 🌲Nature softens normal symptoms of grief 🌲Nature teaches us about the natural cycles of life and death. 🌲Research shows people who practice forest bathing have optimum nervous systems, well-balanced heart conditions, and reduces bowel disorders. 🌲Lower BMI. People who exercise outdoors are less fatigued and have a lesser change of suffering from obesity. (I’ll take working out outside over the gym any day. I usually find myself in the gym more when the whether gets colder) 🌲It helps emotional regulation and improves memory function. 🌲Better attention and focus. Seriously, I could go on and on about the benefits of nature. There are so many. Get outdoors everyone. Even if it’s cold. Bundle up and get out. Just 30 minutes a day is beneficial. In one of the pics you see me hugging a tree. I needed to hug that tree. Trees are so ancient, wise, and just hugging them for a moment grounds me. There are also benefits to tree hugging, but I’ll save that for another post. So, remember to get outdoors. Get up and get your body moving. Thought I’d share a pic of my first home birth. This was me 9 years ago giving birth to Kyree. As you can see, he was crying at the top of his lungs. Our midwife was like wait what’s wrong with him. She wrapped him up in a blanket and he stopped crying. He’s been high maintenance like that ever since😂 Since this birth, I’ve had two more home births and they have all been amazing. All five of my births have been amazing, but there’s nothing like having a baby, hopping in bed, and going right to sleep in your own bed!! In addition to the individualized care throughout pregnancy, birthing in an environment you created, and having the siblings close by. A few days after his birth I cleaned the placenta and encapsulated it with the help of my friend/doula and mom.
